Day 1: Arrive San Jose
Upon arrival to the San Jose Airport, meet-and-greet service ensures a seamless transition through customs and transfer to the El Silencio Lodge. The property is an eco-lodge focused so that it is one with its surroundings amidst the surrounding rain forest canopy. El Silencio belongs to Relais & Chateaux so you are assured that the culinary offerings will be exceptional! This is a perfect way to settle into your time in Costa Rica amidst the valleys, waterfalls and gorgeous landscapes unique to the area.

Day 2: Coffee & Farm to Table Experience
Today is all about the culinary highlights of the area. Begin your day fittingly by visiting a nearby coffee plantation, located in the Highlands of Naranjo which is acclaimed for producing high quality coffee. You will get to discover the complete coffee process, from visiting the fields to see how harvesting happens, to the roasting of the beans, to finally enjoying a fresh cup of Costa Rican coffee. This afternoon, you will get to discover the farm-to-table nature of dining at El Silencio. Meet the chef to discuss how they manage the various items that they organically nurture on the land, including the greenhouse and the onsite trout stream.

Day 3: Waterfall Hike & Spa
There are many opportunities to hike to dream like waterfalls, and today you are going to do just that! There are different levels of hiking and trails available, so your guide will tailer your experience to your comfort and fitness level. You are assured to get a great sense of the beauty of the rain forest in the area, as you hike to one or more seemingly hidden waterfalls. Upon return to the property it is time to relax your muscles from the hike and enjoy the Esencia Spa, a wellness sanctuary that utilizes natural healing ingredients.

Day 4: Arenal Volcano National Park
Meet your driver for your private transfer to your next stop in Costa Rica, the Arenal Volcano National Park! The park is dominated visually by the Arenal Volcano, however it is an incredible setting of wildlife, flora and fauna all protected and preserved. A stay at Nayara Springs is special and unique as guests have their own individual villas with private plunge pool. Nayara Springs offers an incredible luxury experience, set amidst the vast greenery and nature of the area.

Day 5: Mystic Hanging Bridges
Set above the rainforest floor, your Naturalist guide will take you through a series of 15 different hanging bridges. Views of the surrounding forest and of the volcano provide an impressive setting for your adventure as you learn about the local wildlife and nature.

Day 6: Horseback Ride & La Fortuna
From the town of La Fortuna, you will begin your horseback riding adventure across farms and countryside taking in the sights including spectacular colored toucan birds. After reaching the horses’ resting spot, you will continue on a hike to discover a 230-foot-high waterfall. Below the waterfall a natural pool appears where you can rest and swim in these waters.

Day 7: Trekking & Hot Springs
Your trekking today will be across the lava fields created from Arenal Volcano, which is actually still active to this day and you may see puffs of steam from the top of the crater on any given day. The trek is interesting as you observe the pioneering species of plants and trees which have taken hold amidst the lava cracks. The reward for this hike is time to visit and soak in the five thermal pools set amidst the pristine rainforest.

Day 8: Palo Verde National Park
Meet your private guide in the lobby of Nayara Springs and head out for your transfer to the Papagayo Peninsula on the Pacific Ocean coast. En-route enjoy a visit to the Palo Verde National Park, one of the best places in the country to view native wildlife. Set out on a boat ride which provides a good vantage point to explore the park. After the visit, continue to the Four Seasons for your three-night stay. Located on the Papagayo Peninsula, the Four Seasons is situated to allow for enjoying and appreciating the coast in luxury including the beaches, wildlife, and water activities.

Day 9: On the Water
Head out onto the water today to enjoy the warm waters of the surrounding Pacific. Popular activities available include stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking and sailing/catamaran excursions.

Day 10: Papagayo Peninsula
Enjoy a day of leisure at the luxurious Four Seasons and the beautiful setting of the Papagao Peninsula. Relaxation can be found at one of the four resort pools, or at one of the two beaches.

Day 11: Departure
Today you will check out of the Four Seasons and privately transferred to the Liberia airport for your return flight home.
