Amaze Travel’s Classic Alaska itinerary is our Alaskan journey which takes you from the peaks of Denali National Park to the glaciers and coastal towns of the Inside Passage. Experience the dramatic landscapes of the 49th State and observe up close the abundance of wildlife including bears, whales, moose and more! Day 1: Arrive Anchorage
Arrive into Anchorage where you are greeted at the airport by your driver and privately transferred to your hotel in the downtown area. The rest of the day is at your leisure – while we recommend going for a bike ride along the Coastal Trail. It is a great way to start appreciating and experiencing the beautiful nature of the 49th state, and you may even spot a moose near the bike path!

Day 2: Denali Flight-seeing
Today you will get a chance to see the highest peak in North America, Denali, from many exciting angles as you venture on a flight-seeing experience! From Anchorage, you will head north to the quaint village of Talkeetna. The drive is extremely scenic and you quickly get a sense of the vastness of the land. Your flight departs to incredible altitudes for dramatic summit views of Denali, Mount Foraker, and Mount Hunter. Have your cameras ready as you see historic climbing routes and learn about the geography of the Alaska Range, plus discover how glaciers and weathering carve the surrounding mountains.

Day 3: Seward & Set Sail
This morning after breakfast and check-out, your private car awaits to transfer you to the port town of Seward. The drive is especially scenic as it follows the coastal road for a 2-hour drive south from Anchorage. Upon arrival at the dock, board your cruise for an afternoon embarkation.

Day 4: Hubbard Glacier
Today you are in for a real delight as the ship will cruise to Hubbard Glacier, the largest glacier in North America! The blue waters that surround the glacier and the white & blue ice of the glacier make for a tranquil and beautiful setting. The ship will have exclusive access to the waters in front of Hubbard Glacier which will allow for excellent viewing, pictures and appreciation for its beauty.

Day 5: Sitka
Sitka is one of the larger towns of the Inside Passage with a history that includes indigenous peoples plus the Russian Empire – evidence of both are still evident in town. Recommended Shore Excursion: We suggest getting out on the water as part of a boat ride to explore the area. You are likely to encounter much wildlife including whales breaching, playful swimming sea otters, and loud & lazy sea lions. Afterwards, walk the town of Sitka noting its history & architecture and if time allows visit the Alaska Raptor Center which serves to treat and rehabilitate injured bald eagles and other birds of prey.

Day 6: Juneau
As your ship settles into port, you will see a playful act unfold on the water off the coast of Juneau as a continual stream of sea planes are landing and taking off. There are many ways to explore and enjoy the wild landscapes that surround Juneau! Recommended Shore Excursion: We suggest experiencing nearby Mendenhall Glacier. There are several ways to do so, including by boat. However, we find it best to be seen by air and by foot! From Juneau, board your own helicopter which will soar above Mendenhall Glacier and you will get a sense of just how vast and magnificent it measures about 14 miles longs! Upon landing on the glacier, you will be outfitted with crampons and have the unique opportunity to walk around and explore the glacier!

Day 7: Skagway
This is the town that the Klondike gold rush dreams were made of! A quaint downtown which retains its original founding with very orderly blocks and straight roads. From town there is excellent hiking opportunities to hidden lakes and streams and you may have wildlife sightings including bears! Recommended Shore Excursion: There is an excitement and appeal to following the footsteps of the old pioneers in the area. Take a ride on the railroad to White Pass Summit, an elevation nearly 3,000 feet above Skagway! Along the ride see the rugged landscape that had to be braved by those hoping for gold, and see glaciers, gorges, waterfalls and more!

Day 8: Ketchikan
The Salmon Capital of the World sits at the southern end and entrance to the famed Inside Passage. The largest of towns that you will visit on your cruise, don’t miss on the historic Creek Street – filled with wooden walkways and wooden buildings that harken back to Ketchikan’s founding days. This port offers so much to see and do, and is one of the better places to have the opportunity to spot bears in the wild or to do your own salmon fishing. Recommend Shore Excursion: The Misty Fjords National Monument sits about 20 miles from Ketchikan and is breathtaking scenery of undulating hills filled with towering pine trees. We recommend seeing Misty Fjords by scenic sea plane. This ride will take you up, over and around the area to give you an appreciation for the sheer beauty. During your flight, your captain may find a hidden away mountain lake to land the plane – certainly an experience you won’t forget.

Day 9: Vancouver
This morning your cruise concludes as your ship pulls into harbor in the cosmopolitan town of Vancouver. The gorgeous Rosewood Hotel Georgia will be your home for the next two nights, serving as an elegant and trendy base to see the city. Today, you may spent the afternoon exploring some of the main areas including Gastown (known for its cobble stone streets, and trendy shops and restaurants) or head to Granville Island which has a sprawling markets plus other food & shopping options.

Day 10: Explore Vancouver
Today you will appreciate the landscapes and wildlife of the area. Start with a visit to Stanley Park, the city’s answer to New York’s Central Park. Stanley Park has many pathways which allow for excellent walks or bike rides. There is also the Vancouver Aquarium which introduces you to the wildlife conservation efforts in the area. Finally, you will head out on whale watching boat ride. In the summer months, whales make there way up from Hawaii, southern California and Mexico’s Baja Peninsula to enjoy the fish stocked waters near Vancouver.

Day 11: Departure
This morning enjoy a final breakfast before you are met by your driver and privately transferred to the Vancouver airport.
