Winter Escape in Panama

I was looking for a quick weekend getaway to escape the Chicago winter and Julie suggested a trip to Panama. I was disappointed to only able to fit in a long weekend, but Julie was able to plan my trip so that I could see much of Panama, but not feel like I was rushing around.

She found amazing accommodations right off of the water and the Cinta Costera. I was able to wake up in the morning and watch the barge ships lining up to go through the canal! In just 4 days, I explored much of both the new and old areas of the city and included visits to the Panama Canal and Cerro Ancon, a hill that overlooks all of Panama and provide spectacular views.

I love to try local food when traveling, so Julie made sure my trip included a visit to the local fish market that served fresh ceviche, an authentic Panamanian restaurant and even suggested I go off the beaten path a bit and try a local milkshake shop run by an older Panamanian woman – all were delicious and I enjoyed the fish market so much that I made a second stop there before I left Panama!
 

The trip was perfect – not only would I go back to Panama, but would use Amaze Travel’s expertise in the future to plan the perfect vacation!
